This is part of a series called “Thirty Days of Thanksgiving”.
A compilation of what I am most thankful. In no certain order. Just those things most near and dear to me.
I love my family. And I love spending time with them. Hanging out at home. Riding bikes or going for a walk. And road trips. Seriously, we love road trips. Our road trips can be near our home or far, far away.
One of our most favorite places to venture out to for the day is Seattle. Sometimes, we go to the waterfront and walk around the market.
Other times, we go to Seattle Center to spend the day at Pacific Science Center, sneaking in a stroll through Queen Anne (LOVE all the cool little coffee shops and eateries!).
When the weather is nice, we’ll spend time at the zoo. Our kids love the Woodland Park Zoo. A couple of times, we have been able to attend their “Home School Days,” where classes and tours are offered. These have been a lot of fun.
Jon and I really enjoy walking around various neighborhoods in Seattle. Sometimes, we find ourselves on SPU’s campus. Seriously, this campus just makes me want to re-enroll in college all over again, listen to lectures, take notes and write papers. I think it’s really pretty! Plus, the kids have decided they are going there for college :-).
Our family has a serious love of music and all things artistic. So, we really enjoy going to musicals and other theatrical productions in Seattle.
Sometimes, we take the kids. There is something magical that happens at the theatre, especially when experiencing a performance through the eyes of a child.
And sometimes, Jon and I go by ourselves. Recently, we’ve seen Les Miserable and Wicked. Makes me miss my performing days…just a bit.
No matter what we do, we always have fun. I am so thankful to have family days and the opportunity to explore such a gorgeous city.
For what are you most thankful? Join me in “Thirty Days of Thanksgiving.”
