Menu Plan Monday: Oct. 25-Oct. 31

This week, I am trying out a few new recipes from the Oct. 2010 Better Homes and Gardens magazine: Beef Sirloin Tips with Smokey Pepper Sauce, Tomato Apricot Chicken, Pumpkin Barley and Sage Soup and Pumpkin Scones. (**I am linking the recipes from BHG; however, I think you need to sign up for a free membership on their website in order to access them.)

As well, on Sunday, Oct. 31 at 4:3oPM, we are hosting the, 3rd Annual Cajun Food and Candy. We will serve Cajun food (usually, Gumbo or Jambalaya) to our neighbors and friends. A few days beforehand, we pass out invites. It’s nothing formal. In fact, folks can come and grab a bowl of food and leave, if needed; or, they can stay and chat. We have the gathering early, so they can get back to their homes in time to pass out candy and greet the children who come through our neighborhood.

Monday: Leftovers and Freezer Meals

Tuesday: Beef Sirloin Tips with Smokey Pepper Sauce and Parmesan Polenta

Wednesday: Pumpkin, Barley and Sage Soup with Pumpkin Scones

Thursday:  Leftovers

Friday: Tomato Apricot Chicken, Rice Pilaf and Broccoli.

Saturday: Breakfast for Dinner

Sunday: Cajun Food (Gumbo or Jambalaya)
